Third Basic Web Authoring Workshop in Quetta January 31, 2001

The third in a series of workshops in basic web-authoring was conducted on Jan 29-31 (3 days) with seventeen participants from twelve organizations and government agencies. A private computer centre run by 'Innovative Information Technology' was the venue of the workshop.

After an introduction to the Internet by SDNP's City Coordinator, Mr. Jan Mohammad, the lead trainer, Ms. Zarin Syed gave an overview of web publishing tools, some key terminology, web surfing, planning of web page designing and designing a web page through Front Page 2000.

More advanced features like frames, DHTML effects, page transition, hover buttons, animations, graphics & special effects, building and manipulating web graphics, creating and modifying images, exploring GIF animator etc were introduced on the second day and the participants practiced their application.

The third day began with the procedures for uploading and maintaining a website. Later, the participants worked on their respective websites and finally made presentations of their work. The concluding ceremony was presided by Mr. Nadir Gul who gave an overview of IUCN and its projects and emphasized the need for bringing reliable information on the net. He also distributed certificates among the participants.
