Office has been selected to represent Pakistan on the WSA
Expert Panel 2005.
The World Summit Award (WSA) is a global initiative for
selecting and promoting the best in e-Content and creativity.
It involves representatives from numerous countries on
all five continents and sees the bridging of the digital
divide and narrowing of the content gap as its overall
goal. The WSA places its emphasis on cultural diversity
and identity, the creation of varied information content
and the digitalization of educational, scientific and
cultural heritage. The project is an initiative by the
European Academy for Digital Media (EADiM) and is held
in the framework of and in cooperation with the United
Nations World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS)
2003-2005.
The task of an Expert Panel member is to propose for the
WSA 2005 global contest the best in his/her opinion multimedia
products or applications from his/her country, according
to the 8 categories and guidelines of the WSA 05. A total
of eight products (one per category) shall be proposed
by entering the data into the WSA online database. The
beginning of the WSA 05 registration is July 1st, 2005.
All proposed products will be evaluated by the WSA Grand
Jury 05, who will meet in August - September 05.
